Blog 23: Senior Project Reflection

(1) Positive Statement What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
I am most proud of my ability to connect with the classroom, I actually enjoyed presenting and felt that I kept the audience amused but also focused on everything I was saying.

 (2) Questions to Consider a. What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation (self-assessment)? AE P AP CR NC
                          I would give myself a P.
 b. What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project (self-assessment)? AE P AP CR NC
                          I would also give myself a P
(3) What worked for you in your senior project?
I enjoyed the presentation part of the presentation because it because the presentation required us to be extremely knowledgeable on our topics, and was satisfying in the end to see all of our yearlong work pay off.

 (4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project if you could go back in time?
I would be a little more organized with my activity and make sure that everything would run a bit more smoothly.

 (5) Finding Value How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors? Be specific and use examples.

It has helped me acquire much greater knowledge on cars. It has given me much more experience with working on the cars aswell. Overall it has helped me to be a better student and to have no fear when speaking in front of crowds.

Blog 16: Answer 2

1. My essential question is " What is the biggest factor in maintaining an automobile?"
2. The biggest factor in  maintaining an automobile is preventative maintenance.
3. The biggest factor in maintaining an automobile is adjusting your driving style to help you save money.
4. One reason that adjusting your driving style will have an effect in real world situations is that it will save you money, for example by not accelerating so hard it will put a lot less stress on your engine and will result in less maintenance in the long run compared to the "lead foot" drivers.
Adjusting your driving style will also result less money on gas because you aren't "hammering it!!" at every light and will also save you money on buying new brakes because the faster you go the harder you must brake to slow down. The last reason adjusting your driving style will have an effect in real world situations is that it can keep you and others around you safer. By using the same "lead foot" example, we can conclude that you will have a much lower chance of getting into an accident because by driving slower you will have more control over your car and also have more time to make decisions based on the driving situations around you. Accidents can cost you lots of money but more importantly it could coast you you're life and even others around you.
5. Cars.com provides a website with many practical tips on how to make your car last longer.
6. I think that another source could be my mentors own knowledge on driving styles and how they can effect the maintenance of you're car.
7. Overall, I think that adjusting your driving style has two main effects on your lives as a car owner. It will save you money on maintenance and repair and will also keep you and the drivers around you safer.

Lesson 2 Reflection

1. I am most proud of the pictures of my slideshow because of the many beautiful pieces of machinery (cars) featured in it. 2. I would give myself a P+ on my presentation. 2b. I feel that I deserve a P+ on my presentation because of the flow and pace of my presentation. I am almost positive I met all the P requirements and think that a P+ would be a conservative assessment considering all of my many props presented during the presentation. 3. I think that my activity worked out well for me even though I thought that it might have been repetitive, but it turned out to work well because it engaged the entire classroom as a group and reassured me of their understanding. 4. The only part that didn't work right was when Yuritzi told me that I only had a minute and nineteen seconds left, so I started cramming my activity together and then was relieved about a couple of minutes into my "forward mode" when they told me I still had nine minutes left for my activity. If I could go back in time I would have definitely looked at the clock for myself or had it more visible so that I wouldn't have to rush through the activity on accident. 5. I think that my second answer might go into more depth on the engine components and the mechanics of everything in order to help the audience better understand the reasons for certain procedures when maintaining an automobile.

Lesson 1 Reflection

1. Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Lesson 1 Presentation and why?

Probably my prop, which was a spare tire, because it helped me elaborate more on the presentation.

2. Questions to Consider

      a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 1 Presentation (self-assessment)?
               P

      b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 1 component contract.

I believe that I deserve the P because I hit all of my points and I believe I met all the requirements and communicated well with my audience.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 1?

I think that speaking out from my own knowledge worked well because it allowed me to flow better and not run off some sort of script. I present better when I don't plan too much.

4.  (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 1?

I think that I would have been a bit more organized with my presentation because although it was filled with information, it could have been re organized in a better order to flow better.
